With so much uncertainty and speculation at the moment, it’s no wonder so many people are confused and left wondering what Covid-19 means for the Rockhampton Property Market.
Well here is my take on it all, remembering this is just my opinion.
What has changed?
Business:
Yes the way we conduct business has changed. We can no longer host open homes; however we CAN still do one on one/ private inspections which I actually prefer. This allows us to really get to know our clients better and we’re able to connect with them on a deeper level.
Buyers:
We aren’t meeting as many buyers since open homes have been put on hold, however I’m finding the Buyers who are calling up to arrange inspections ARE serious and ready to buy. And who wouldn’t want that? I would chose quality over quantity any day.
Volume:
The amount of listings coming on have decreased (volume is down) because of this, active buyers in the market are gravitating towards the same properties which is keeping the demand up — Learn how you can protect your price when selling.
Is the Rockhampton Property Market going to drop?
Honestly I don’t have a crystal ball (I wish I did) however it definitely hasn’t happened as yet and there is absolutely no supporting evidence to indicate this either. Even though the number of listings coming on have decreased and so have the number of buyers out in the field – the ratio is still very similar to what it was pre COVID 19. However I feel the people in the market place right now are more serious. Even though no one can predict the future, what I can do is promise is to keep you updated on what is happening in the market, every step of the way.
I feel very fortunate to be in Rockhampton right now. Life as we know it has changed, but compared to other states & countries I feel extremely lucky. This virus will pass and will become a distant memory.
